Los Zacatitos offers swimmable beaches, surfing close by, a local favourite – Zac’s restaurant and security.
The home is self-sufficient with solar system which was completely rebuilt in 2019 and includes 5000 watts in panels, 1100-watt hours in Simpliphi lithium-iron batteries (another battery could be added if desired), and a combined Outback charge controller, inverter, and monitor. The system allows a Mirage mini-split air conditioner to cool the master bedroom.
The water storage (pilas), located at the street level, hold 10,000 liters, or enough for approximately one month depending on usage. Water is treated by an ultra-violet system which purifies 24-hours a day. The septic system is divided into gray water and black water holding tanks. The gray water tank has a pump, and the water is fed to the five coco palms and six bougainvillea’s once a week. The black water flows to a percolation field and has worked flawlessly for 15 years.
